Karno is a young company that is revolutionizing the thermal energy market in Belgium. Gone are the days of individual boilers and gas or oil heating systems. Karno installs new collective and entirely renewable systems to supply new districts directly with heat and cooling. Karno develops, builds, finances, manages and operates zero-carbon thermal energy networks.

Your Mission
At Karno, we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Construction Project Manager. This role offers a unique opportunity to blend construction expertise with environmental sustainability initiatives in large-scale projects.

My Typical Day
As a Construction Project Manager at Karno, no two days are the same. Here’s a glimpse into what a typical day might look like:
- Morning Collaboration with Engineering: I start my day by preparing projects with our internal engineering team. I communicate construction constraints and gather technical solution ideas.
- Budget and Cashflow Management: I then focus on budget preparation, monitoring budget progress, and finding ways to adhere to the overall project budget. Managing the project’s cash flow is also a critical part of my morning routine.
- Planning and Agility: I work on both long-term and immediate project planning, considering all onsite constraints. Agility is key – I’m always ready to adapt to unexpected changes and am solution-oriented.
- Afternoon Reporting and Coordination: I consolidate information from my project portfolio for internal reporting and plan upcoming workloads to inform suppliers and subcontractors.
- Site Visits and Quality Control: Later, I visit construction sites to meet teams, prepare for subcontractor arrivals, and organize pre-work inspections. Ensuring quality and progress on the site is a crucial part of my day.
Project Multitasking: Depending on my experience and the complexity of projects, I manage between 3 to 5 projects simultaneously.
Each day offers diverse experiences - one day I light oversee a geothermal drilling site, the next could involve laying underground pipes, and then integrating into a new real estate project.
Your profile
- Strong leadership and communication abilities.
- You have a positive attitude and are enthusiastic by nature
- Proficient in budget management and scheduling.
- Fluency in French and/or Dutch, and proficiency in English.
Your technical skills
- Proven experience in construction project management
- Degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
- We are looking for profiles with none to 10 years of experience

- Familiarity with risk management and safety protocols in construction.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced and changing environments.
- Advanced technical knowledge in construction or engineering fields.
