Karno is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Public Affairs Manager to help develop the thermal energy business in Belgium. A teammate who can change the game in lobbying government relations.
Karno is a young company that is revolutionizing the thermal energy market in Belgium. Gone are the days of individual boilers and gas or oil heating systems. Karno installs new collective and entirely renewable systems to supply new districts directly with heat and cooling. Karno develops, builds, finances, manages and operates zero-carbon thermal energy networks.
Your mission
As public affairs manager, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of energy policy in Belgium and develop the measures of our political memorandum for the various Belgian political parties in view of the upcoming federal, regional, and municipal elections.
The primary objective is to advocate for legislative changes that will accelerate the decarbonization of energy usages in Belgium. Your mission is to create a cleaner and more efficient future by harnessing the power of renewable energy sources and inform policymakers, media, and the public about district heating's benefits in energy efficiency and carbon reduction. As we bring together energy startups active in thermal energy networks, thermal energy engineering, energy communities, geothermal drilling and decarbonized energy supply ... Your profile
Regional, Belgian and European energy sectors: You understand market dynamics, regulations, and the current public policies and specifically in renewable energy.
Analysis and regulatory monitoring: You have the ability to monitor, analyze, and anticipate legislative and regulatory developments that could impact the sector.
Communication and public relations skills: You are adept at developing and maintaining relationships with policymakers, regulators, and other key stakeholders.
Negotiation and persuasion: You can effectively defend the company's interests to decision-making bodies.
Lobbying and advocacy techniques: You know the best practices for influencing decision-making processes in favor of the company.
Linguistic skills: You are fluent in French and Dutch, with a good knowledge of English, considering Belgium's bilingual context and the importance of English in the European and international framework.
Excellent communicator: You are comfortable with both written and verbal expression.
Team spirit and the ability to adapt: You can work effectively in a team and adapt to a constantly changing environment.
